House in Little Venice

2025

Float Structures were engaged to support the refurbishment of this townhouse in Little Venice, including a new rear-extension.

The extension is defined by a fully glazed corner façade, with two elevations formed almost entirely of glass. Achieving this level of transparency required the development and coordination of a carefully engineered steel frame, allowing the visible structure to be consolidated into a single, slender column aligned to a glazing mullion.

The roof structure cantilevers approximately 4m above the rear glazing, supporting a wildflower green roof above. Particular attention was given to deflection control and connection detailing to maintain the integrity of the structure.

The project has featured in the RIBA Journal.
